C stone-léon
Halifax-based rapper, producer, and creative curator C Stone-Léon is carving out a distinct lane within Canada’s underground hip-hop landscape. Drawing inspiration from artists such as MF DOOM, Freddie Gibbs, and The Alchemist, Léon blends raw lyricism with textured production and cinematic aesthetics, creating music that balances classic influences with a modern independent edge.
After gaining early recognition in the underground scene, Léon intentionally reset his catalogue to focus on a new artistic direction that better reflected his evolving sound. This new chapter began with the release of his debut project New Hollywood in February 2025, introducing a more focused and cohesive vision of Léon as both an artist and curator.
Alongside collaborator Luke French, Léon has become a growing presence in Halifax’s live music scene. The pair performed their first Nova Scotia Music Week showcases together and have played over 20 shows across Atlantic Canada in the past two years. In October 2025, they released the collaborative project Tokyo, Sayonara!, produced by Toronto-based producer Ghostboyrj, further connecting Halifax’s emerging hip-hop scene with artists across Canada.
Beyond music, Léon is also the founder of DIRECTOR, a creative platform spanning music, film, art, and design, reflecting his broader vision of hip-hop as both sound and culture.
